China’s First Aircraft “6S” Store Lands in Dongguan

Dongguan Enters the Sky: China’s First Aircraft “6S” Store Lands in the City

In a bold step toward the future of low-altitude economy, Dongguan, known globally for its manufacturing prowess, is now selling aircraft. Yes, you read that right — Dongguan has opened its first-ever aircraft “6S” store, a major milestone in China’s fast-developing low-altitude aviation sector.

What is a “6S” Aircraft Store?

Unveiled in April 2025 at the Pearl River Delta Auto Expo Center in Machong Town, the aircraft 6S store is operated by Guanglian Xianglong Aviation Technology. The innovative 6S model includes:

  • Sale of light aircraft like the Jabiru J230
  • Servicing and maintenance
  • Spare parts supply
  • School for pilots – offering training and certification
  • Special finance – financing and leasing options
  • Supporting operations – aircraft hosting and logistics

This full-spectrum approach replicates the automobile industry’s successful 4S and 6S store model and makes Dongguan the pilot city for a replicable and scalable general aviation service ecosystem in China.

Dongguan’s Low-Altitude Economy Takes Flight

The launch of the 6S aircraft store is just one example of Dongguan’s multi-pronged strategy to seize opportunities in the emerging low-altitude economy, projected to become a trillion-yuan market in China.

The city has seen over 500 companies enter the drone, aerospace, and aviation services space, with a combined market size exceeding 600 billion yuan by the end of 2024. From drone delivery to air taxi testing, Dongguan is leading the charge in integrating aerial technology into daily life and industry.

Tech Innovation in Zhongtang: Smart Helipads and AI Systems

In Zhongtang Town, Tesion Low-Altitude Technology has spent over a decade developing real-time aerial data platforms for logistics, public safety, and tourism. The company owns 300+ patents and has built lightweight, AI-powered smart helipads — portable drone ports designed to enable autonomous drone operations and drastically reduce maintenance costs.

Tesion’s systems are now deployed across major cities in Guangdong, serving over 300 drones daily in areas like agriculture, emergency rescue, and urban planning.

Xiegang Town: Drone Delivery and Aerial Services

In Xiegang Town, Yunzhong Chuansuo Technology is taking drone applications to new heights—literally. Their specialized drones are cleaning glass facades of high-rise buildings, delivering parcels, and even acting as aerial tour guides.

The company has developed over 10 types of drones including FPV racing drones, crop-spraying UAVs, and aerial cargo drones. It is now actively applying for flight corridors to expand into drone delivery, food service, and emergency transport within Dongguan.

Xiegang has reserved 650 acres for a dedicated low-altitude economic zone and is building testing sites, drone landing pads, and a low-altitude sightseeing corridor in the scenic Yinping Mountain area. These efforts aim to merge aviation with tourism and education.

Strategic Support from Dongguan’s Government

In 2025, Dongguan’s municipal government officially listed the low-altitude economy as one of the eight emerging strategic industries in its “8+8+4” development plan. The 2024–2026 Implementation Plan targets a full-fledged low-altitude industry ecosystem by 2026, aiming for:

  • 1,000+ upstream and downstream enterprises
  • 500+ billion yuan in industrial output
  • Core strengths in aircraft manufacturing, testing, and application services

Dongguan’s tech hub, Songshan Lake Science City, has also become a cluster for low-altitude innovation. Companies like Huoying Tech (parachute systems), Fengyi Aerospace, and Yunjian Tech are developing cutting-edge UAV systems, AI sensors, and emergency-response tools in partnership with logistics leaders like SF Express.

Dongguan’s Future in Aviation

From Machong’s aircraft 6S store to Zhongtang’s smart helipads and Xiegang’s aerial logistics, Dongguan is showcasing how local innovation can drive national-level growth in aviation.

As policies continue to open the sky for low-altitude industries and businesses accelerate R&D, Dongguan is on course to become China’s premier “Sky City” — not only manufacturing aircraft, but also redefining how we use the airspace below 1,000 meters.
